A powered cable runs through your cleanout and clears the main line when the floor drain backs up or several fixtures drain slowly.
A sink, tub or shower that won't empty. We clear the clog, then run water to make sure the drain is moving before we pack up.
Pressurized water scrubs grease, scale and root hairs off the pipe wall. It lasts longer than a cable when the same drain keeps clogging.
Cleaning the main line before it backs up, especially useful in older Chicago homes with clay or cast-iron sewer pipe.
Sump and ejector pumps that won't start, run nonstop, or can't keep up in a storm. We find the cause and fix or replace what failed.
A small camera on a cable shows roots, cracks and low spots on video, so you decide on repairs after seeing the actual pipe.
Toilets that run or leak, faucets that drip, worn-out fixtures. Repaired or replaced, with a price given before work starts.
Drain, sewer and kitchen-line work for restaurants, offices, shops and apartment buildings.
Most people don’t call us knowing whether they need rodding, jetting or a camera. They call because something is backing up. So here’s roughly how we’d sort it out over the phone.
If it’s one sink, tub or shower draining slowly, the clog is almost always in the line right at that fixture, and drain cleaning takes care of it. If water is coming up through the basement floor drain, or the toilet gurgles when the washer runs, the trouble is farther down in the main line. That’s sewer rodding territory, done through the cleanout.
When the same drain clogs again a few months later, a cable probably opened a hole without cleaning the pipe wall. Hydro jetting does a better job of that, and a camera inspection shows what’s really going on in there.
Backups that line up with spring growth, or a big tree out front, often mean roots. Whether you need a cleaning schedule or a repair depends on the pipe. Water in the basement after heavy rain is a different problem: check the sump or ejector pump first, and if the sewer itself keeps coming back up, ask about an overhead sewer conversion.
Restaurants usually need grease trap cleaning, and an overflowing yard drain is a catch basin job. If something is happening right now, skip all this and call the emergency line at (773) 588-1200.
If you can’t tell what’s wrong, let us look. The camera shows what the pipe is made of, where the roots are, and whether there’s a crack or a dip holding water. That tells us whether a cleaning will do the job or whether you’d be paying for the same visit again in six months. You get a price for the work before we start.

Look at where the problem shows up. One slow fixture usually means drain cleaning. Water coming up the basement floor drain, or several fixtures acting up at once, points to the main line. If you're not sure, describe it to us and we'll tell you what we think.
Drain cleaning clears the branch line that serves one fixture, like a sink or tub. Sewer rodding clears the main line that every fixture drains into, from the cleanout toward the street.
When the same drain keeps clogging, or the line is coated in grease or scale. A cable opens a hole through a clog, while jetting scrubs the whole pipe wall.
When backups keep returning, when you're buying an older home, or when you want to confirm a line is clear after cleaning. It shows what's inside the pipe so repairs are based on what's really there.
